A Celebration of Life.

Friends of Abel,
As you all have surely learned, a lot happened in that 36hrs following our post last Thursday evening. Without walking through the details in depth, Friday (Day 14) brought some twists & turns that eventually landed us at Dallas Children’s hospital after Abel’s most challenging day physically. Things were not improving in the late hours at the hospital, so we prayerfully decided to take Abel back home around 2am Saturday morning to settle into his little spot on our sofa.
At 6:15am on February 6, 2016 (Day 15), resting peacefully & comfortably in his mama’s arms, Abel Paul Crawford took one last sweet breath with us here on earth and went to be with our favorite Person in history. In the wake of his passing, it is all the more unfathomable to me that our God voluntarily willed & allowed His only Son to die… says quite a bit about his love for you and I.  Our loss is heavy, but Abel’s gain is eternal… it is Christ. He ran this race with such strength, and we are so proud of him.
  • In one week, we will fondly reflect upon 15 days of Abel Paul with music, messages & memories. Kelly & I would like you to join us for a Celebration of LIFE this coming Wednesday 2/17 @ 1:29PM at Watermark Community Church (7540 LBJ Fwy, Dallas TX 75251).
Yes- consider this your official invitation, and feel encouraged to pass it along to absolutely anyone who’s been tracking with us these past few weeks/months. Our only ask is that you don’t dress in black or wear a tie 🙂 And rather than flowers, we’d love for you to make a contribution to StandForLife.org if you feel led to do so. Also optional, you can bring (or send) a note to Abel about how his life has impacted your walk with the Lord.
We are tremendously sad… yet we thank God for 15 unforgettable mornings with our first son, and look forward to many more at a future time. His life has changed ours forever. We are sorrowful yet rejoicing, and excited to celebrate his life next Wednesday, Feb 17th. We will kick things off @ 1:29PM sharp, so be encouraged to show up around 1PM and come with those alarms set-
Forever parents of Abel Paul Crawford,

  2. My heart goes out to you! Two years ago we lost our granddaughter to Trisomy 18. Olivia Anne lived for 3 weeks! We cherished every moment. It is the dance of grief and joy. The grief is the loss and the joy is knowing Abel is with Jesus! You will see him again! (And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7.) I wish you peace and strength on your journey! God bless, Cris Axley
